Jack of All Trades
Matt took a pictures of me the other day while I was trying to get a pic of the Crabapple Cider. Using the hack that someone taught me years ago for a shallow depth of field - get out a big lens and stand really far away. Is there a better way to do it? I guarantee there is - one that would be easier, turn out better, require less furniture rearranging. But the reality is, I don’t have those skills, nor the time to learn all of them.
There's very little predictability in this work. Some days I come in thinking I'm going to finally get through some paperwork, only to be called over to the canning line to help with some labeling. Some days I think I'm going to knock out some monthly cleaning chores, only to end up on calls for future collabs all afternoon. There are so many tasks we take on that we've never done before (let's run a social media account with no photography background, let's plant a cider apple orchard, let's buy a canning line), but there's comfort in knowing I have to accept my best as good enough. It's hands down a jack of all trades life. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
