Have you ever wondered about the heritage of the apples you see in the store or at the farm stand? Wondered what to call the bottom of the apple? How to describe the tall angular or big round shape? Have you ever been out wandering, stumbled across an old tree, and wanted to figure out what kind of apple it was? Or wondered if, maybe, it’s an unknown apple and you’ll have the chance to name it?
In this workshop, we’ll be studying some common and heirloom apples. Justin, Bløm manager, will be sharing introductory information on apple phenotyping, identification, and anatomy. Beginners welcome!
You’ll have the opportunity to cut open and examine various apples, taste, and take home an identification packet so you can continue practicing at home.
